Whether you rely on Weatherhood or Environment Canada for your outlook on conditions in the days to come, the coldest nights of this 2024/25 winter season are forecast for later this week.
Since November of last year, the coldest overnight temperature recorded at Environment Canada’s Sechelt weather station was -1.4 degrees and that occurred on Dec. 2. That entity has an overnight low of -5 in its forecast for Thursday, with below zero nights continuing through to the weekend.
Weatherhood’s forecast is looking for overnight lows in the zero to -2 degree range for the next five days. Daytime highs for Wednesday, Jan. 15 are anticipated to top out at 7 degrees, but by Monday the warmest point in the day is expected to reach only 3 degrees.
According to Environment Canada, there have been 12 evening’s of sub-zero temperatures since November, 2024.
