Weatherhood says today will be sunny with daytime high temperatures of 11 degrees C. Clouds are forecast to be arriving overnight and to stay with the Sechelt area throughout the weekend.
This is the weekend of the spring change to daylight savings time. Clocks are to move forward by one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9.
Looking back at last month, Sechelt's Environment Canada weather station recorded the highest daily temperature of that month, 13.5 degrees C on the 24th. The lowest recorded temperature in February, 2025 was minus 7.9 degrees C on the 7th. Total precipitation for that 28 day period was 9.5 centimetres, with February 4 marking the date with the greatest amount of accumulated snow on the ground at 38 centimetres.
February 2024 had a different weather story. No days with snow accumulation were reported at Sechelt's automated weather station and just over 8.1 centimetres of precipitation was measured over that 29 day month. The coldest temperature recorded during the second month of last year was minus 3.4 degrees. That month's warmest conditions were experienced on Feb. 1, when the mercury reached 13.2 degrees C.
