Snowfall warning in effect

A snowfall warning remains in effect Monday morning for the Sunshine Coast –– from Gibsons to Earls Cove.

Environment Canada says the Coast should expect 10 to 15cm of snow, with flurries becoming less intense later this morning.

" An unstable airmass combined with an area of convergence over the Strait of Georgia will continue to produce flurries over the area this morning," said the notice. "The highest amounts will likely occur over higher terrain, but other areas may see locally intense flurries giving reduced visibility and heavy snow accumulation."

The week ahead

Snow is expected to resume, with a 60 per cent chance of flurries expected tonight and tomorrow and a low of -4C and a windchill of -9C.

But the sun is forecast to return Wednesday and through the rest of the week, with daytime highs hovering at 0C, and lows in the -6C range.
