A structure fire is reported to be under control in the Sakinaw Lake area of Sunshine Coast Regional District Area A (Pender Harbour/Egmont) as of 10:15 a.m. on July 24.
Pender Harbour Volunteer Fire Department spokesperson Jim Cameron told Coast Reporter that one member from that department along with crew members of the Egmont Fire Department and BC Wildfire were on scene.
At 9:02 a.m. the fire had been listed on BC WIldfire's fire situation page at 0.009 hectares, and at that point, out of control.
Postings on the Pender Harbour Uncut Facebook page from a handful of people noted that they had sighted the smoke in the area.
