Effective Oct. 8, Harbour Air is temporarily suspending non-stop flying between Sechelt and Richmond (YVR South) as well as Vancouver Harbour for the coming winter season, according to an email from the company received by Sechelt-based employee Leah MacNeil and shared with Coast Reporter.
"Any guests with bookings on the impacted routes on 8 October 2024 and beyond will be notified of the schedule change shortly and presented with options and alternative flights," the email reads.
Coast Reporter reached out to Harbour Air head office via telephone and email but was unable to secure a comment from them.
A change.org petition requesting "an opportunity to voice major concerns about the Harbour Air cut in service" was launched by Janice White, who identifies herself online a resident of Sechelt, on Sept. 9.
