Juno-nominee and Prairie Music Award-winning musician Oliver Swain is bringing his Corona Conscious Concert Series to Powell River.
He will perform in The ARC Garden at 7055 Alberni Street on July 18 from 2 to 4 pm.
The outdoor concert, hosted by inclusion Powell River (iPR), conforms to pandemic health guidelines. Only 49 tickets are available atpowellriver.eventbrite.ca.
“We are committed to doing everything we can to create events that are safe and responsible,” the Victoria musician said. “We are closely following the provincial and regional health authority protocols.”
Swain added that guests are asked to arrive close to showtime and will be directed to seat themselves two metres apart.
“There will be no break and guests are encouraged to disperse quickly once the performance is complete,” said Swain.
“Our organization is pleased that Oliver has chosen our venue for his concert,” said iPR chief executive officer Lilla Tipton. “I know his music.”
She added that The ARC Community Event Centre has been used for many public and internal events since it was refurbished, such as weddings, craft fairs, fashion shows and celebrations of life.
“Now that the garden is complete with the addition of a concrete floor under the gazebo, its appeal as an outdoor performance area has been enhanced,” said Tipton.
Advocates in Motion (AIM) is hosting another concert on July 23 featuring Tyler Bartfai and Austin Parise with special guest Frances Mae Pagani. Tickets are available at 604.483.8468.
“Typically, we hold a large summer barbecue for our staff, clients, families and supporters,” Tipton explained. “With a maximum of 50 people allowed at a gathering, this summer we will have smaller picnics in the garden.”
