Anthony Canil is sharing his journey about growing up in Powell River and getting the chance to raise his children here while owning a thriving local business. Foxtrot Electrical Solutions recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
“I was born and raised in Powell River and grew up in a big family; my parents are from Italy,” explains Canil, “My father, Bruno, worked in the mill for almost 40 years, and I moved away to join the military after high school. That’s where the name Foxtrot comes from. Eventually, I moved back to start my business.”
Canil says that when he left his job as a paratrooper for the military, he didn’t have any civilian skills, so he ventured into electrical work. He has always been a worker and finds the job rewarding because he gets to meet new people in town, provide them with a service, and see a project from start to finish.
Foxtrot Electrical Solutions offers a wide range of services to meet its customers’ electrical needs. The locally owned and operated company is dedicated to providing high-quality workmanship and planning for all the projects Canil and his team takes on.

As he looks back on the decade, Canil says he wants to say thank you to his customers and clients who have used Foxtrot over those 10 years.
“I’m thankful that we’ve been able to run a business that employs multiple employees who have been able to make a living in Powell River,” he adds. “It has allowed me and my family to have a rewarding life here, which can be a challenge these days. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be successful.”
Canil would also like to extend his gratitude to his employees who have played a big role in the business’ success: Dustin McDonald, Trevor Nicholson and Lucas Dupuis.
He says he hopes to continue offering the same services for another 10 years. He would also love to see his children get into the business and the trade that has served him well throughout his life.
