In their third game in as many days, with significant travel involved, Powell River Kings fell behind early and never fully recovered in a 6-4 loss to the Bulldogs at Alberni Valley Multiplex on November 5.
Alexi Van Houtte-Cachero scored his 10th goal of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) season with the Kings trailing 3-0 in the second period, but the home team added a pair of goals before intermission to lead 5-1 after 40 minutes of play.
Powell River rallied in the third period, outscoring Alberni 3-1, but ultimately fell short by two goals. Thomas Belzil, Christian Maro and Zander Stewart scored for the Kings. Anthony Lucarelli, Van Houtte-Cachero, Alex Sandhu and Maro had assists for the Kings, who were outshot 38-35. Attendance was 1,402.
Kings started the weekend with a win at home over Trail on November 3, then fell to the Grizzlies in Victoria the next night.
Powell River hosts Surrey on Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11. Both games start at 7 pm.
