Marek Beaudoin played two seasons in the QMJHL with Chicoutimi Saguenéens before signing with the BC Hockey League’s Powell River Kings.

Powell River Kings added another forward to their roster with the signing of 2006-born forward Marek Beaudoin.

The 18-year-old from Verchères, Quebec, was a 2022 second round draft pick of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) Chicoutimi Saguenéens, where he played for the past two seasons. He scored 15 goals and helped set up 15 others in 120 games.

Beaudoin is the sixth new recruit to join the Kings with more than 100 games of previous junior experience. According to assistant general manager Stephan Seeger Jr, Beaudoin is going to be a thorn in the side of opposing teams.

"Marek is a pain to play against; he can make things happen offensively with his skill and deception on attacks, and when he doesn't have the puck he shows a willingness to be physical and get into the shooting lanes,” stated Seeger Jr. “He's a menace to the opposition and has a good work ethic. We are excited to have Marek in a Kings jersey this year."

The Kings will open training camp this weekend with a set of scrimmages at Hap Parker Arena that are open to the public at 6 pm on Friday, August 30, and 11 am on Saturday, August 31.
