In his first appearance since being acquired by Powell River Kings, forward Simone Dadiè scored one goal versus Nanaimo Clippers on Friday, December 8, at Frank Crane Arena.

Powell River Kings continue to tweak their roster, this time by signing 2003-born forward Simone Dadiè on Friday, December 8, for the remainder of the 2023/2024 BC Hockey League (BCHL) season.

Dadiè scored in his Kings’ debut on the same day, in Nanaimo, which briefly tied the game 2-2 in the second period. Clippers went on to defeat the Kings 6-4 in front of 1,206 fans at Frank Crane Arena. Anthony Lucarelli, Christian Maro and Zander Stewart also scored for Powell River.

Dadiè is from Brunico, Italy, and spent the last three seasons with the North American Hockey League’s North Iowa Bulls. In 114 games he scored 25 goals and added 34 assists. This season Dadiè played in 24 games for the Bulls, scored four times and assisted on five other goals.

At six-feet, three-inches tall, he will provide much-needed size to the forward group, according to Kings’ assistant general manager Stephan Seeger Jr.

“We have been looking for a power forward who can bring some grit and also speed to the lineup,” stated Seeger Jr. “I believe he fits that mould.”

Dadiè became the second signing in as many days for the Kings after the addition of Rémi Gélinas was announced on December 7.

Kings face Cowichan Valley Capitals tonight (December 9) in Duncan.
