Powell River Minor Hockey female program took another stride forward with the first annual all-female tournament April 5 and 6 at Powell River Recreation Complex.
The seven-team two-age-group tournament was a huge success with over 100 girls participating.
Powell River Lockeroom Pitbulls bantam team captured the tournament title with a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Campbell River Hurricanes.
The girls had a great weekend with three Powell River teams competing with teams from Campbell River, Parksville and Lake Cowichan.
