Powell River U11C Kings hosted a six team hockey tournament recently at Hap Parker Arena. In addition to the home team, the event featured hockey clubs from Vancouver, Langley, Victoria, Oceanside and Campbell River.
Kings earned a silver medal, losing by a score of 6-2 to the undefeated Victoria Raquet Club in the gold medal game.
The hosts won their first game in round-robin play on Friday, January 19, a 9-5 win over Oceanside. Powell River split a pair of games the next day, losing 8-5 to Victoria before rebounding to beat Langley 5-2.
Prior to the gold medal game on Sunday, January 21, the Kings downed the eventual bronze medalists from Vancouver 10-6 in the final round-robin game.
