Elliot Pratt has moved further west after spending last season stopping pucks in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He is the latest netminder to join the Powell River Kings lineup.

Powell River Kings have added a goaltender to the roster for the 2024/2025 BC Hockey League (BCHL) season.

Elliot Pratt, who is from Toronto, spent two years in the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite Hockey program before heading west to play for Sherwood Park Crusaders and Camrose Kodiaks in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) last season. He was a teammate of current Kings’ defender Wyatt Davis in Camrose.

Pratt played in 22 regular season games in the AJHL posting a 8-10-1 record with a 3.67 goals against average (GAA) and an .899 save percentage to go along with two shutouts. In the playoffs, he reduced his GAA to 3.08 and increased his save percentage to .942 in eight games.

The six-foot, four-inch 19-year-old is committed to Robert Morris University.

"Elliot is a big-bodied, smooth-moving netminder who plays with a lot of poise in net, takes up a lot of the net and likes to challenge shooters," stated Kings assistant general manager Stephan Seeger Jr, in a media release. "We love Elliot's compete and size in the net, as well as his calm demeanor off the ice are all great assets we are happy to add to our locker room. Coming off a great 18-year-old year in Camrose, we are super excited to see his transition into the BCHL."
