Vancouver Island Soccer League Division 1 regular season play resumed last weekend after multiple weeks of scheduled Jackson Cup matches. Bays United (Victoria) hosted Powell River Villa on February 22, and posted a 3-0 win.
One day earlier, Nanaimo picked up three points in a 5-1 win over Sooke. As a result, tenth place Powell River now trails eighth place Nanaimo by nine points and remains six behind ninth place Sooke. Villa has two games in hand on both clubs. All three are attempting to avoid being relegated to VISL Division 2 for the 2025/2026 season.
Villa continues a string of away games on March 1 in Victoria versus Vic West 1.
Powell River was eliminated from the annual Jackson Cup in-season tournament on February 15.
