Roger was a lifelong adventurer who enjoyed travelling around the globe, both solo and together with some of his closest friends.
He appreciated and experienced the cultures and people of many countries throughout the South Pacific, North Africa, Asia and Europe. At home, whether in Powell River, where he was born and raised, or Thailand, Roger was known as a man who would give you the (golf) shirt off his back. He will be missed greatly by his family and by many remarkable friends around the world. He passed away suddenly at his home in Cha-Am, Thailand.
Roger was predeceased by his parents Irene and Ernie Gibbs. He is survived by his daughter Kelly (Max); brothers David and Richard (Barbara); cousins Jean (Wayne), Christine (Lee) and Ian (Pam); nephews Leopold (Mikhaila), Jozef and Janek (Jacqueline); and nieces Marynia (Sandi), Halina (Derek) and Teresa (Adam).
In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to PROWLS (Powell River Orphaned Wildlife Society ) or the charity of your choice would have pleased him.
A celebration of Gibby’s life will be held at the Shinglemill on June 3, 2023, from 12 to 4 pm.
