Robin was the beloved first born child of Fred and Betty Doupe, who experienced an idyllic upbringing in Powell River during the 60s and 70s. As a boy, he participated in ice hockey and was a member of the Powell River Trail Riding Club, where he accumulated many ribbons for showing his horse, Rob Roy.
He enjoyed a storied 45-year career in logging both on the west coast and in his chosen home of Nakusp, where he was viewed around town as a unique individual, wearing his coonskin hat.
Although he optimistically envisioned his death coming at the hands of a jealous husband when he was 102 years old, he in fact died peacefully in his home from complications of COPD.
Robin leaves to mourn his two daughters, Erin Monica Doupe and Nicole Ria Doupe, their mother Guitao Su, sister Terri Jones (Grant), niece Michelle MacNeil (Connor, Hudson and Sawyer) and nephew Tanner Jones.
There will be no funeral by request. Arrangements with Valley Funeral Home in Nakusp.
