It comes with heavy hearts that Marti’s family must announce his passing at the age of 62.
Martin was born and raised in Haney, BC (Maple Ridge). He leaves behind his loving wife Patricia, his mother Lorna, stepchildren Sherrie (Mike), Sea, Robert (Getina), six step-grandchildren Devon, Madison, Alexis, Adrianna, Calina and Isabella, as well as one great-granddaughter, Layla, aunt Dorothy (Fred), and cousins Mandy and Bryan.
Martin made many friends over the years, especially while working as a boilermaker. He was a proud member of Boilermakers Lodge 359 and missed the camaraderie of his fellow union brothers and sisters after he was forced to retire due to health issues at the age of 58.
Martin and Trish lived in Hope, BC, for 18 years but his greatest wish was to retire in Powell River, so they bought their forever home in the Historic Townsite.
Martin’s love of animals was like no other and he had many over the years. His dog Zena and cat Bert are missing him deeply.
Well, my love, 21 years was not enough for either one of us, but you are now without pain and you will be dearly missed by all who loved you.
Marti’s family would like to thank all health care staff at the hospital in Powell River. There will be no memorial service.
