Born in Leicester, England, John Bloxham met his soulmate, June Bloxham (née Hooke), at their church at Braunstone Lane, where he played the organ and she taught Sunday school.
After a short break when John served in the RAF, becoming an aircraft electrician, and June pursued education for teaching, they reunited. They married and in 1957, moved to Canada, living in Edmonton, Prince Rupert and finally, Powell River.
Although an electrician by trade, it was his final working years with the John Howard Society that were his most meaningful. He had the opportunity to work with colleagues and members of the community with whom he shared common values and held in high-esteem.
He was a man of honesty, integrity, humanity and quiet generosity. His family will miss him but have peace knowing he is finally reunited with June, the love of his life and mother of his children: Jeanie, Barbara, David and Shirley.
