SEEKING MUSICIANS: Twin Kennedy is calling for local musicians to submit a performance video for the chance to set the stage for the sisters’ Homebound Tour concert as the opening act, having the opportunity to perform two songs before the twins’ concert begins, August 15.

This is the last week for local musicians to be part of the Twin Kennedy Homebound Tour, which will feature a concert at Evergreen Theatre on August 15.

The twins from the qathet region are returning to their roots for the special Homebound show, which is named after their album Homebound.

“We’re thrilled to offer a local musician the opportunity of a lifetime,” sisters Julie and Carli stated in a web post. “You could be the one to set the stage for our performance.”

According to Twin Kennedy, the winner of the contest will perform two songs at Evergreen Theatre in Powell River before Twin Kennedy takes the stage. The winner will receive a prize package, with six front-row tickets to the show, exclusive merchandise from Twin Kennedy, valued at more than $100, and a promotional interview with Twin Kennedy on Facebook or Instagram Live, introducing the winner to the twins’ fanbase.

In order to enter, contestants can send a video of their best live performance to the sisters at [email protected] with the subject line Powell River Contest, by July 26. According to Julie and Carli, all styles of music are welcome. Selections will not be based on video quality – an iPhone video is great, they stated.

Contestants are asked to provide a short biography.

“Tell us about yourself, your musical journey and why you want to open for Twin Kennedy,” the sisters stated. “Include your name, phone number and email.”

The sisters also prompted contestants and fans to follow @twinkennedy for updates and announcements.

The winner will be notified by August 1 and a Facebook and or Instagram live interview will be set up with Twin Kennedy between August 1 and 10, based on availability.

“Don’t miss this chance to showcase your talent, gain exposure, and share the spotlight with yours truly,” the sisters stated. “Whether you're a solo artist or part of a group, this is your moment to shine.”

“Break a leg and get ready to rock, Powell River. We can't wait to hear from you.”
