CHANGE ANNOUNCED: qathet School District superintendent Dr. Jay Yule will be leaving his position at the end of the school year after 19 years in the position.

qathet School District (qSD) superintendent of schools Dr. Jay Yule will be leaving his position at the end of this school year.

In a statement issued by the school district, qSD board chair Jaclyn Miller stated that Yule has been with the school district for more than 25 years, 19 of which as superintendent.

“During his tenure, Jay was involved in many initiatives that made a positive impact on student learning,” stated Miller. “We thank him for his many contributions and wish him the best going forward.

“Our search for a new superintendent will begin immediately.”

Miller added that while the school district searches for a new superintendent who can drive the district’s vision forward, the district will be naming someone into an interim

role to assume the responsibilities.

“In the meantime, we have a dedicated team of senior staff to maintain stability and continuity,” stated Miller. “We plan to make the interim superintendent decision by early July.”
