Disappearance
James (Jim) Barr, who has business interests in Powell River and is the brother of Jack Barr, went missing in North Vancouver on Wednesday, May 18.
Barr, 44, has been missing since he left his home on foot at around 8 am. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, light plaid shirt and dark tan pants. He is five feet nine inches (175 centimetres) tall and weighs about 180 pounds (81 kilograms). Police report they have no reason to believe Barr’s disappearance is related to any crime. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604.985.1311.
Back in court
Two women accused in the child pornography case, involving three minor victims and three accused in Powell River, have been put over another two weeks until June 1. Crown counsel Ian Tully-Barr expects charges to be finalized by that time.
