qathet Regional District’s (qRD) committee of the whole is recommending the regional board approve improvements to the Savary Island dock shed.
According to a staff report, the dock on Savary has become a destination for late night partiers and the Savary Island Marine Advisory Committee has proposed installing a rollaway security door that could be locked to prevent access on summer nights.
The staff report stated that late night party groups have disturbed the neighbourhood and there has been smoking inside the shed, creating a fire hazard.
