qathet Regional District (qRD) Electoral Area B director Mark Gisborne will serve as chair of qathet Regional Hospital District.
Gisborne was acclaimed to the position at the May 22 meeting of the regional hospital board.
Naming of a new chair was necessitated by the resignation of City of Powell River director George Doubt, who had served in the hospital board chair position since the October 2022 municipal election.
Chief administrative officer Al Radke said Doubt was regrettably stepping down as the chair effective at the beginning of the May 22 meeting.
Electoral Area C director and regional board chair Clay Brander nominated Gisborne to serve as the new chair.
“Thank you, everyone, for putting your faith in me,” said Gisborne, in accepting the position. “I will try to do a decent job.”
