qathet Regional District (qRD) directors have approved a five per cent increase to the directors’ annual indemnity and meeting allowance rates in 2024.
The directors’ remuneration and expense amendment was approved at the December 20, 2023, regional board meeting. The qRD finance committee made the recommendation at its meeting on December 6.
According to a staff report, for 2024, staff were recommending applying a consumer price index increase to the annual indemnity and meeting allowance rates in accordance with the regional district’s personnel policy. The staff report indicated the increase to the BC consumer price index for the preceding 12-month period ending September 30, 2023, was five per cent.
The staff report indicated that the increase would add $8,606 to the 2023 amount.
