qathet Regional District directors have unanimously voted for the directors remuneration and expense amendment bylaw.

At the January 29 regional board meeting, directors approved the bylaw, which will provide for a 2.8 per cent increase in stipend over 2024. The increase in the bylaw is related to the increase in the consumer price index for British Columbia, as recorded by Stats Canada for the preceding 12-month period ending September 30, 2024.

According to the bylaw, the director base remuneration is $18,370, the electoral area director premium is $6,781, the Electoral Area D location premium is $2,361, the Electoral Area E location premium is $3,915, and the board chair premium is $17,036.
