qathet Regional District board has directed staff to engage with the BC Marine Parks Forever Society and to develop a report that evaluates the potential impacts and benefits to qathet Regional District.
At the April 8 regional board meeting, directors passed the motion to engage with the society, which made a presentation to the March 26 committee of the whole meeting, outlining how it has contributed more than $2 million to improve 20-plus marine parks by land acquisition, as well as installing stern ties and moorings in anchorages around the province, including in qathet Regional District.
Fly-In permitted
The board has directed staff to prepare a letter of permission to Texada Arts, Culture and Tourism Society for the Texada Annual Fly-In at the Texada Island airport on July 27.
