RECEIVED DISTINCTIONS: Hockey coach Julie Venselaar, with City of Powell River mayor Ron Woznow, and members of the Queens female hockey clubs, was recognized at the City of Powell River Council meeting on October 5 for her on-ice accomplishments. Venselaar was recognized by Hockey Canada and BC Hockey, being named female coach of the year, for her leadership in teach hockey to girls and young women in this community.
