Sailings of the Island Discovery ferry will resume with a 3 pm departure from Texada Island.
The ship has not sailed since this morning because of a system failure onboard.
According to a media release from BC Ferries, safety of passengers and crew is of primary importance.
“We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” the release stated. “We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of earlier cancellations.”
The release stated that BC Ferries’ goal is to inform its customers as early as possible of any changes to its scheduled sailings.
