Powell River-Texada Island ferry resumes service

The North Island Princess ferry sailed from the Westview terminal at 2:45 pm on Monday, December 30, after several sailings were cancelled due to a problem with a generator. BC Ferries, in a travel advisory, stated that the vessel had received clearance from Transport Canada to resume operations.

The 3 pm sailing from Blubber Bay on Texada Island will be delayed.

Earlier today, BC Ferries advised that North Island Princess sailings had been cancelled due to a mechanical difficulty.

According to a travel advisory from BC Ferries, on Monday, December 30, the 8:35 am sailing departing Powell River, the 9:20 am sailing departing Texada Island, the 10:20 am sailing departing Powell River and the 11:25 am sailing department Texada Island were all cancelled.

A water taxi had been contacted and began sailings from Van Anda at approximately 11 am, according to BC Ferries.
