Powell River RCMP seek public assistance to identify robbery suspect

Powell River RCMP is looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect male who is pictured above.

Powell River RCMP is looking for public assistance in identifying a robbery suspect involved in an incident at Duke’s Liquor Store in the 4400 block of Marine Avenue on November 20.

Police attended and spoke to an employee who advised that an unknown male came into the store and stated he needed money, then began pushing the employee toward the cash register and made her open it, according to an RCMP media release on November 25.

The male then grabbed a handful of cash and left the store. A portion of the cash was dropped on the ground when he left the store.

The release indicated that the suspect wore a black hoodie, blue jeans and a black t-shirt with red and white writing underneath. He was also wearing a black hat, black gloves, a black bandana-style facemask and had sunglasses on top of his hat.

The male is believed to be approximately six feet two or six feet three inches tall.
