At 1:29 pm on May 29, Powell River RCMP responded to a “shots fired” complaint.
Police patrolled the area of Malaspina Road and Highway 101 and heard the sound of a firearm being shot.
The attending officer observed four individuals shooting skeets from a residence in the 2200 block of Highway 101 into the tree belt behind the residence.
Police spoke to the males who admitted to shooting long guns for target practice. Police observed many pieces of metal equipment on the property that may have caused a ricochet and a number of open and empty liquor containers.
The males admitted to consuming liquor while target shooting. All seven firearms and various loads of ammunition were seized and police continue to investigate firearms offences.
