At approximately 7:57 pm, police received information in regard to a possible impaired driver on the ferry from Comox to Powell River. Police attended and located the suspect vehicle as it was driving off the ferry. The vehicle was stopped and police spoke to the driver, a 45-year-old female from Nanaimo. The driver showed signs of impairment, and as a result, police made a breath demand in order to determine her blood alcohol concentration. The driver refused the demand, and as a result, she was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impound under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
