Powell River RCMP reported the following for July 21 to 27, 2022.

July 22 ; Highway 101, south
At approximately 1:20 pm, police were making patrols on Highway 101 near Zilinsky Road. A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and crossing the double solid line multiple times.
The vehicle was stopped, and police spoke to the 59-year-old female driver, who showed signs of impairment, and a field sobriety test was completed. The driver performed poorly on the sobriety test and was taken back to the detachment to complete a drug recognition exam.
Based on the results of the drug recognition exam, the driver may be charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will attend court at a later date.
