On June 16, 2022, at approximately 9:56 pm, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a missing person.
A 76 year-old male had left his care home, located in the 4900 block of Joyce Avenue. Extensive police patrols were made with the assistance of Powell River Search and Rescue in an effort to locate him.
At approximately 7:31 am on June 17, police received information that the missing person may be in Courtenay. Comox Valley RCMP was contacted, attended the location and confirmed that the missing male had been found and was safe.
