Powell River RCMP investigate mischief, vandalism at high school

Powell River Fire Rescue called local police after a fire alarm was pulled in the early morning at Brooks Secondary School last weekend.

Powell River RCMP responded to a request from Powell River Fire Rescue for assistance at Brooks Secondary School (Marine Avenue, 5400 block) in Townsite on Sunday, January 28, where a window had been broken and the fire alarm had been pulled just after 2 am.

The fire department confirmed that there was no fire. No one was found on the property.

Video surveillance was reviewed and two suspects, who appear to be youth, can be seen spray-painting graffiti on the exterior wall of the school, then throwing a rock through the window and pulling the fire alarm.
