Powell River museum closes doors in response to COVID-19

Staff will accept research requests by email or phone

Effective immediately, the Powell River Historical Museum and Archives (PRHMA) is closed until further notice in response to COVID-19.

According to a media release from the City of Powell River, the museum and archives is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and considers the health of staff, volunteers, patrons and partners to be a top priority.

To further help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and in response to the continuously changing situation, the PRHMA is closing its buildings to the public starting Tuesday, March 17, until further notice.

PRHMA remains dedicated to serving the qathet Regional District. To provide distance research services, core museum staff will still be accepting research requests by email at [email protected] and by phone at 604.485.2222.

The museum and archives will continue to monitor the situation and update the community as necessary.
