Powell River RCMP officers responded to 159 total calls for service from June 19 to June 26, including six thefts, three break and enters, two impaired driving incidents, seven assaults, two cases of mischief and five calls related to mental health.

During the morning, an individual was found deceased on the beach of Grief Point airplane park. The investigation is ongoing, however, the death does not appear to be suspicious, according to police. There is no concern for public safety, the RCMP stated. The individual has been identified and the family has been notified.
