December 13; Edgehill Crescent
At approximately 9:41 am, police received a report of a break and enter on Edgehill Crescent. Approximately $2,000 to $3,000 worth of tools were stolen from a trailer after the lock was cut off sometime during the previous night. The tools include two Makita impact drivers, a Makita drill, three Makita chargers, six Makita batteries, a Makita biscuit joiner, a Black and Decker jigsaw and some bolt cutters.
December 10; Joyce Avenue
At approximately 11:30 am, police received a report of a break and enter at Canadian Tire. Sometime during the previous night, someone broke into a trailer parked outside the loading dock. Several items valued at over $1,000 were stolen from inside the trailer.
December 9; qathet region
At approximately 3:48 pm, RCMP received an anonymous report of a male and female using drugs inside a vehicle. Police attended and located the vehicle. The driver, a 39-year-old female from Powell River, was spoken to, and police observed signs of impairment. Drug paraphernalia was also observed inside the vehicle. A standardized field sobriety test was done, and the driver of the vehicle performed poorly. As a result, a drug recognition exam was completed and the driver received a 24-hour driving prohibition under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. The driver may also face Criminal Code impaired driving charges at a later time.
