February 12; Ash Avenue
At approximately 4:54 am, police were conducting patrols on Highway 101 when a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed turning onto Ash Avenue. Police caught up to the vehicle on Manson Avenue, where its speed was determined to be in excess of 110 kilometres per hour. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed as well as a seven-day vehicle impound under provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.

February 12; Manson Avenue
At approximately 7:59 pm, police were making patrols on Manson Avenue when they observed a vehicle swerving on the road. The vehicle was stopped by police. While speaking to the 58-year-old male driver, police could smell a strong odour of liquor, and observed other signs of impairment. Breath samples were obtained that registered a fail on the approved screening devices. The driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

February 13; Powell River
At approximately 7:24 am, police received a report of a firearms offence at a local hotel. Police executed a search warrant and located a loaded pistol inside a room. As a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old male has been arrested and is facing numerous firearms related offences.

February 14; Burnaby Street, 6900 block
At approximately 8:51 am, police responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle. Sometime during the previous night, a vehicle was broken into and a purse containing credit cards was stolen from inside. A number of fraudulent transactions were then completed around town with the stolen credit cards. This matter is still under investigation.
