Powell River RCMP reported the following for November 28 to December 4, 2019.

November 29; Joyce Avenue, 5000 block
At approximately 4:19 am, police responded to a report of a stolen bike from Powell River General Hospital. After viewing security footage, it was determined the bike was stolen at 2:48 am that day by a stocky male wearing a dark jacket and pants, and with a white cloth across his face. The bike is described as a custom built, 27-speed, men’s folding electric bike with an Erikson electric battery on the frame. The bike is valued at approximately $1,500.
December 2; Manson Avenue
At approximately 10:55 am, police stopped a vehicle on Manson Avenue between Barnet Street and Alberni Street after it was seen speeding and swerving within the lanes. The 66-year-old male driving the vehicle showed signs of impairment and admitted to cannabis use. A standardized field sobriety test was conducted and the male performed poorly on the test. As a result, he was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.
