Powell River RCMP reported the following for June 20 to 26, 2019.

Break and enter: 3

June 20; Duncan Street, 7000 block
At approximately 9:15 am, police responded to a report of a break and enter. The owner advised that he returned home to find someone had forced their way through the front door. He advised that cigarettes, loose change and bear spray had been stolen.

June 20; Loubert Road, 1800 block
At approximately 7:30 am, police were called to a business for a theft complaint. It was determined the theft occurred on or about May 15. Missing were a Lincoln welder and welder helmet, and a Stihl chainsaw.

June 23; Mouat Bay Road, Texada
A report of a single vehicle collision was reported to the Texada Island RCMP. Upon arrival it was noted that several people were standing around a Suzuki Tracker. It was learned that the vehicle had been northbound when the driver lost control going around a corner and then hit the ditch. None of the occupants had been injured. The driver was issued a ticket for driving without reasonable consideration.

Cops for Cancer
Powell River RCMP will be holding a burger and beer fundraising event at Townsite Brewing on July 7 from 2 until 7 pm. This is the second event in the Cops and Hops series and all proceeds will go toward Cops for Cancer. Tickets are $20 and available at the detachment, Townsite Brewing or from this year’s Cops for Cancer rider, staff sergeant Rod Wiebe. Please come out and support this worthwhile cause, have a burger and some laughs taking part in the horse races.
