City of Powell River Council has made its nominations for Powell River Public Library board of directors.

At the November 2 city council meeting, councillors voted to reappoint councillor Earl Almeida as the city appointment, with councillor Trina Isakson appointed as the alternate. Their terms are for a one-year duration.

Council also voted to appoint Patrick Brabazon and reappoint Paddy Treavor for two-year terms.

Powell River Public Library is composed of nine trustees, with five appointed by the city and four appointed by qathet Regional District.

Treavor’s appointment expires on December 31, as does the appointment of Rod Wiebe, who has served with the library board for eight consecutive years, which is the statutory limit as set by the Library Act. Wiebe cannot be reappointed this term.
