BC Ferries issued an announcement at 9:22 am on Tuesday, December 17, that the following round trips between Westview (Powell River) and Blubber Bay (Texada Island) terminals have been cancelled due to a mechanical difficulty with the vessel’s propulsion system.
8:35 am departing Westview
9:20 am departing Blubber Bay
10:20 am departing Westview
11:25 am departing Blubber Bay
12:15 pm departing Westview
3 pm departing Blubber Bay
3:45 pm departing Westview
5:05 pm departing Blubber Bay
6 pm departing Westview
"We continue to investigate the issue and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations," the company stated in the announcement.
A 12-person water taxi has been sourced to provide service until further notice. It will operate between the Westview wharf and Texada Boat Club in shuttle mode.
Customers who have checked-in at the terminal are invited read information about BC Ferries compensation policy. Receipts must be provided for compensation consideration, according to BC Ferries.
