Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Powell River.
An intense front will approach the south coast in the evening of Sunday, November 25, bringing strong winds and heavy rain. Winds are forecast to strengthen and reach up to 80 km/h in the Powell River region.
Winds will ease tomorrow.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
The storm will has bring heavy rains, with 15 to 25 millimetres forecast.
