Excavation at Powell River intersection will cause disruptions

EXCAVATION PLANNED: Graham Infrastructure plans to conduct construction at the Willingdon Avenue and Courtenay Street intersection to install a new manhole and tie into a sanitary pipe for the consolidated wastewater treatment plant. The construction will result in water disruptions on March 15, and possibly 16.

Construction activities in City of Powell River's downtown core will result in disruptions at Courtenay Street and Willingdon Avenue starting March 14, with an anticipated end date of March 18.

A notice from Graham Infrastructure, the contractor responsible for the consolidated wastewater treatment plant, and also from City of Powell River, states that there will be construction activities, with Graham conducting an excavation to install a new manhole and tie into a sanitary pipe connected to the mainline at Courtenay Street.

The notice further states there will be water disruptions on March 15, from 7:30 am to 5 pm, with the further possibility of disruptions on March 16, also from 7:30 am to 5 pm.

The notice states there may be the need to fully close traffic in localized road sections during construction.

Graham Infrastructure indicates it will endeavour to minimize any inconvenience.
