qathet residents Mitch Kenyon and Brian McRae are inviting the public once again to visit what they call the Enchanted Christmas Forest, starting this Tuesday, December 17.
"We have added a third loop this year, bringing the total walk to just shy of half a kilometre long," said Kenyon. "Last year we estimated 1,000 people came through, despite the rain."
The property, tucked inside the forest south of Powell River, has been lit up with lights, toy trains, bright reindeer and candy cane lanes for the public to walk through in the evening, while sipping hot chocolate, and to celebrate the coming winter season and new year.
"We hope you join us for a cup of hot chocolate and some Christmas magic," said Kenyon. "As always, the event is free but donations to cover the costs are welcome."
The Enchanted Christmas Forest is located at 1930 Twin Eagles Road and will be open December 17, 18, 19, 20, 26 and 27 from 5 to 8 pm. Kenyon said last year, the two days after Christmas were the busiest times.
