Downed tree causes temporary power outage in qathet region

BC Hydro reported a downed tree on Monday, October 16, near the 4800 block of Marine Avenue, that was causing a power outage, affecting customers.

Residents in the Westview and Cranberry neighbourhoods of the qathet region reported power being out at their homes after 11:30 am this morning. Crews are on-site and most folks had their power back on as of 3:30 pm. Go to bchydro.com to see the local outage map.

According to Weatherhood, the wind was between 18 kilometres, and hour and 16 kilometres an hour for most of the morning. The average temperature today was 16 degrees Celsius with some rain, and tonight it will dip to 11 degrees Celsius at 9 pm.
