1. September 7
5400 block Maple Avenue
Police responded to a report of a collision. An eight-year-old female was struck by a school bus while riding her bike. Police attended and found that the female had not suffered any serious injuries. No charges were laid as a result of this incident, but RCMP wishes to remind drivers and cyclists to be aware of other road users as there is usually more traffic on the road at this time of year.
2. September 8
Highway 101 near Gibsons Beach
Police stopped a vehicle and spoke with the driver, who showed signs of drug impairment. The driver admitted to consuming marijuana shortly before driving. He was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 24 hours under the Motor Vehicle Act.
3. September 9
4600 block Harvie Avenue
Police responded to a report of a break and enter. Between 4:15 and 5:30 pm, the residence was entered and a Nikon camera and HP laptop were taken. These items are valued at approximately $2,300.
