1. June 7

6200 block Poplar Street

Police received a complaint that a 5.5-horsepower Briggs and Stratton pressure washer had been stolen from the rear of a residence. The owner reported the pressure washer had been left unattended for a few hours. Value is estimated to be around $600. Anybody with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

2. June 7

7000 block Alberni Street

Police on routine patrol observed two males drinking beer at a bus stop. Upon seeing police one of the males fled on foot. The second male, being a 55-year-old Powell River resident, was found to be intoxicated and arrested accordingly. A small amount of marijuana was also located on his person. He was lodged in police cells to sober.

3. June 9

4200 block Westview Avenue

Police received multiple 911 calls from a 52-year-old Powell River male occupying an apartment. The male was on multiple court-ordered conditions from previous convictions including abstinence from intoxicants. Police found the male occupant to be intoxicated. The male then produced a knife and barricaded himself in his apartment. He subsequently fled from the premises and was taken into custody. He has been remanded on numerous charges and is to appear in Powell River court.

4. June 11

Willingdon Beach

Police received a complaint of a 64-year-old Powell River male having passed out in the park. The subject was found to be grossly intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested accordingly and lodged in police cells to sober.
