Pump station

City of Powell River council voted to award a contract for the construction of a booster pump station, part of the drinking water system improvements, to Carver Construction, for a bid price of $823,025, plus a 10 per cent contingency of $82,300, for a total price of $905,325.

Permit

Council passed a motion to issue a development permit for 4493 Joyce Avenue, Massullo Motors, to allow facade improvements and new signage. The permit lists a number of requirements for parking, location of a sign and replacing driveway letdowns with sidewalks.

Airport sweeper

Council voted to purchase an airport runway sweeper from Sweepster Aviation for the tendered price of $140,951, including taxes. The sweeper is funded from the Airport Capital Assistance Program.

Rezoning

Council passed the first and second readings of a zoning bylaw amendment that rezones 4362 Marine Avenue from R2, Single and Two Family Residential, to RM1, Compact Residential.

Bylaws

Council adopted the infrastructure design and construction bylaw amendment. It also passed the first, second and third readings of the lease rates bylaw.
